The Maso Michei Wine Estate

At the centre of the Ronchi Valley, within the splendid panorama between the Lessini Mountains and the Small Dolomites lies an ancient “Maso” a rural estate in the Trentino area surrounded by woods of larch, beech and silver birch: Maso Michei.

Aquired in 2001 by Giuseppe Tognotti and Michela Bruni, today it is the centre of their wine producing business; a business as young as they are, but rooted in the Trentino area with the experience of local people who have nurtured these vines. This land is their home and their life.

The Winery is in reality their family: whilst Michela, a designer, directed her attention to restoring the Maso, a typical sixteenth century building, Giuseppe, a wine grower from the ‘Val dei Ronchi’ area concentrated on preparing the soil reclaimed from the forest in order to plant the first vines.

Those first hectares were planted with Müller Thurgau, Gewü rztraminer and Pinot Nero
and with time other varieties were added, with the future of his two daughters in mind.
Today, Maso Michei has ten hectares under cultivation driven by youthful energy;
Working close to nature with respect for its cycles, in harmony with which the agricultural techniques are simple and non intrusive, designed to incorporate in the grapes all the flavours of this mountainous atmosphere; the very same tastes that their wine brings to life in the glass.
