Colours of the Author
To climb to Maso Michei, from the Ronchi area, one travels on a road totally immersed in green.
It is as if you are entering another world giving the impression of being embraced by the light of the woods that in this moment in time is blessed with striking colours and intense smells. You sense the smell of the earth, it’s humidity, the freshness, the smell of musk.
You just feel like stopping and breathing it in.
Some of our customers, when coming up here, take some time out to stay for a while in the woods as they can hardly believe how rejuvenating the experience can be, and also how much they can recognise the smells of our wines.
Here we have a totally different energy; the autumn is a veritable explosion of colour that has no relation to the re-awakening of spring.
It is as if nature uses - for the last time in the year - all possible tones from the painters palette and then goes to rest for a while, and by so doing, leaves exceptional reflections, delicate colours along with strong vibrant colours that remain difficult for a painter or photographer to capture.
All you can do is look - and realise that all of this will last for a moment and that you have been very fortunate to be a part of it - even for a short time - of such abundant beauty.
